DATA VISUALISATION OVER TIME
Data production will be 44 times greater in 2020 than it was in 2009. Facebook alone processes 2.5 billion pieces of content and 500+ terabytes of data each day. The world around us is changing at a ridiculous pace and the world is now more data-driven than ever.
Despite these changes, Data is a wonderful thing. We know more about our customers and employees than ever, we can engage and re-engage in ways that were never previously possible, and create long lasting relationships with our customers. At Crunch we analyse campaign data daily and make optimisations based on this data. As the amount of data and information that is generated from Digital Advertising campaigns has increased, at Crunch we understand that lines and lines of data on an Excel spreadsheet can be a bit dull and not really answer the questions you want to know such as:

Understanding the data is key to the success of optimisation. Different personalities and skills sets need to view data in different ways. In some cases to understand it, but ultimately to draw the best conclusions from it.
Think of it as detective work. I am a huge fan of crime dramas and the insights that the protagonist draws from what seems like meaningless information. He will lay all the evidence out in several ways to try and find the missing pieces to the puzzle. The techniques used in these shows (which I’m sure are dramatised) are used in real-world examples also. This is what we do with platforms like tableau. We show the data in many different ways. We visualise it through a series of different formats to find a way to draw the data out and see things that previously were not apparent when viewed with in excel.
