Understanding data at scale can be difficult. With ominchannel approaches and more platforms than ever before, there is a need that universities and colleges grasp clarity of their recruiting and marketing efforts. A prestigious university offering online postgraduate courses wanted to closely analyse their student admissions data. Understanding how their audiences were spread around the world related to particular programmes. They offered several courses and found it complex to get meaning out of the very large amount of data that the campaign had produced.
To apply machine intelligence and data insights at a global scale, our data visualisation experts built an interactive dashboard which combined 7-years of admissions and enrolment datasets on one single screen. In this data explorer, hundreds of thousands of spreadsheet rows were available in a concise visual manner, making it possible for the team to find patterns and explore the data in more in-depth detail.
With this data explorer, the marketing and recruitment team were able to quickly query the tool without having to dig for old spreadsheets and worry about making up the right formulas as different questions arose. It made it much easier for them to understand their own data and prompted them to ask further questions: “Why has the MA in International Relations programme had a sudden fall in 2016 and quickly recovery the year after?” or “Did we manage to increase female MSc students over the last 2 years, by how much?” or “Did our recruitment strategy for MBA courses actually increased enrolments?”
